👋 Hello lovely human,
I loved listening to the recent episode of 99% Invisible about Neil Young’s attempt at giving people a high quality audio option to the iPod. It speaks to me because I feel like I am value, value, value dripping all over the podcasting space.
I stumble and fall much more than I succeed.
Neil Young had his claim to fame outside of this venture but I’ve yet to find mine.
So I’m venturing out to go look.
This is the last version of the newsletter.
The YouTube channel will continue. The podcast will be up for awhile and then it won’t be.
I’ll leave you with a project I worked on so hard: a podcast launch guide in video form.

48:05 Part 4: Podcast ROI
There are two key ways to grow your podcast audience:
1️⃣ Promotion — things like social media posts, guest appearances, collaborations
2️⃣ Optimization — tightening up your episode titles, tags, metadata, and other behind-the-scenes elements
Most podcasters go heavy on #1 and completely overlook #2. That’s like wearing rain boots in a downpour but forgetting an umbrella. You’re not getting full protection — or full results.
Want to fix that? I’m running a FREE, SHORT Podcast Optimization Masterclass to help you make your podcast more discoverable — no strings attached. I just want more ears on your show.
Geopats Podcast replay experiment update:
I couldn’t keep away from the audio. I’m approaching this now as a long clip (about 10 minutes) video first production. Static video. Then I’m taking the clip and adding it to the podcast as a replay WITH NO INTRO. It’s a minimalist experiment.

The (Not Boring) Boring Small Business Bookkeeping and Accounting Podcast
Messy Books, Real Fixes, No Fluff. This episode isn’t theory—it’s what bookkeepers really deal with. In this episode, our resident Bookkeeping Mensch, Paul Rosenblum, shares the chaos of a real client’s finances: seven credit cards, tangled business and personal transactions, and even a surprise closed bank account with missing rent payments. Unlike past episodes that offer broad tips, this one gets into the gritty details of how he actually solves these problems using both traditional and unconventional QuickBooks methods. He highlights the importance of client communication, the reality of adjusting workflows on the fly, and why he’s now focusing on respectful, high-quality clients

Last Week In Denmark
Groundhog Day meets Samuel Beckett—cohosts Fionn and Kalpita celebrate this mind-bending Danish novel while we're on summer break. Solvej Balle’s On the Calculation of Volume follows Tara Selter, a woman trapped in a time loop, in a story has been shortlisted for the International Booker Prize. Already awarded in Scandinavia and translated by Barbara Haveland, the novel is gaining global attention as part of a planned multi-volume series.
